Editorial independence
We don't ship cars or sell quotes. We estimate costs neutrally.
CarPassage is not an auto-transport broker or carrier, and we don't take a cut of anyone's shipment price. That distinction is the whole reason this site exists: nearly every other result for a car shipping search is run by a company with a direct financial stake in the number it shows you.
Where the numbers come from
Cost-per-mile bands, transport-type multipliers, and vehicle-size adjustments are aggregated from multiple published auto-transport pricing analyses, cross-checked against each other. No single broker's quote calculator feeds this data, and no partner pays to influence a cost figure. Every page states a rates-as-of date and gets re-verified quarterly.
How monetization works without compromising the numbers
CarPassage earns referral fees when a reader books through a carrier network or buys a shipping insurance policy through a linked partner. Those relationships are downstream of the estimate, not baked into it: the cost range you see is the same whether or not you ever click a partner link. We only link to partners vetted for legitimate, non-lowball pricing practices; see the full disclosure for the specifics.
What we will never do
- Show a lowball number to win your attention, then reveal a higher real price later. That's the exact broker tactic this site exists to counter.
- Route you to a known lowball-bait operator because they pay a higher referral fee.
- Manufacture urgency, fake scarcity, or "instant quote" language that's actually a lead form in disguise.
- Present a single teaser number as "the price" instead of an honest range.
